Wild Threads: Making Cordage from Garden & Hedgerow
Date: Saturday 20th September
Time: 1–4pm
All materials and tools provided
Join us for a hands-on introduction to working with natural plant fibres. In this friendly and relaxed session lead by tutor Sarah Woodman. You’ll learn how to transform wild and garden-grown plants into cordage and small sculptural forms. The workshop begins with a short talk on how to identify, gather and process useful fibres from the landscape around you — followed by a demonstration and practical session where you’ll learn simple twisting techniques to make strong, beautiful cord.
You’ll have the chance to experiment and create your own two- or three-dimensional pieces using hand-processed fibres — a wonderful way to connect with nature, traditional skills, and your own creativity.
Perfect for anyone curious about natural materials, slow craft, or adding a new skill to their creative toolkit.
