Date: Saturday 27th September 2025
Time: 1-4pm
Come and join us for an afternoon of Punch Needle. This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to refine their textile skills. Lead by textile artist and tutor Liane Ging you will explore the wonderful art of needle punch.
Liane will guide you through the creative process to help you to create a textile art piece to take home, and enjoy.
What you will learn
You will learn the art of punch needle. Punch needle is a fibre art technique that uses a special tool, a punch needle, to create loops on a monk’s cloth base. It involves pushing yarn or thread through the fabric, forming loops on the underside, and creating a design. You will work on a simple geometric design that will teach how to work rectangles, squares, straight lines and fills.
All materials will be provided so you do not need to bring anything with you. However, if you have a photograph or a picture of a geometric design you would like to use as inspiration, feel free to bring it as inspiration.
Whether you are looking to try something new or expand your existing needlecraft skills this workshop is a great opportunity to learn, create and have fun in a supported environment.
