
Introduction to Sewing

Join us for a hands-on Introduction to Sewing course, where you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine and create a simple cushion cover and make one yourself to take home! This 6-week workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced sewers alike, offering step-by-step guidance through the process of sewing and quilting.
What You’ll Learn:
• Choosing and working with fabrics (materials provided, or bring your own)
• Machine sewing basics: threading, stitching, and troubleshooting
• Quilting techniques to add texture and strength
• Constructing a simple cushion cover
What to bring:
Just yourself! Everything is provided - we have sewing machines you can use and fabric for you to choose from. You will even get a cup of tea when you arrive [and a biscuit if you are lucky!]
Led by textiles expert Clare Ong, this workshop offers the chance to explore textiles and sewing, you can even repurpose old clothes into beautiful, functional creations. Don’t miss this opportunity to be creative and hone your sewing machine skills!
