Screenprint a Lampshade
Design, Print & Make Your Own Lampshade
Date: Sunday 20th September
Time: 10:00am–4:00pm
Spend a creative day learning two complementary crafts as you design, print and make your own bespoke lampshade to take home.
In the morning, artist and printmaker Gail Bryson will guide you through the process of screen printing onto fabric. You’ll experiment with colour, pattern and composition to create a unique piece of printed fabric, learning the techniques needed to produce bold, beautiful designs.
After a relaxed lunch break, furniture maker Nick James will show you how to transform your hand-printed fabric into a professionally finished drum lampshade. You’ll learn the techniques for assembling and finishing your shade, leaving with a one-of-a-kind piece that’s ready to brighten your home.
No previous experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Whether you’re looking to try something new, develop your creative skills or simply enjoy a day immersed in making, this collaborative workshop offers the perfect introduction to both screen printing and lampshade making.
As always at HUT on the Green, tea, coffee and biscuits are included throughout the day.
Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
