Come join us for an afternoon of Lino Print Making where you can learn how to create your own unique prints using the jigsaw technique.

Discover the art of Jigsaw Linocut printing in this workshop, which  is perfect for beginners and art enthusiasts alike, offering an exciting introduction to this creative and versatile printmaking technique.

Led by artist and printmaker Clare Bowes, you’ll explore how to create multi-coloured prints from just one lino block. Jigsaw Linocut involves cutting your carved block into pieces, inking each section separately, and then putting them back together for printing. Clare will guide you through the entire process, sharing her expertise to help you create a small edition of prints to take home.

What You’ll Learn:

Introduction to Tools and Materials: Get hands-on experience with everything you need, from cutting tools to specialist printing papers and high-quality inks.

Choosing and Transferring a Design: Learn how to select effective designs and transfer them onto your lino block, keeping in mind that prints will be mirror images of your carving.

Cutting the Jigsaw Pieces: Explore techniques for carving your block and cutting it into jigsaw sections, including tips for safely using different tools for bold shapes and fine details.

Inking and Printing: learn how to ink each jigsaw piece separately before putting them back together for printing. The grand finale? The satisfying “Peel and Reveal” moment when your print comes to life!
