Watercolour - Seascapes

Take your watercolour painting further in this relaxed and encouraging six-week intermediate course dedicated to seascapes.

Perfect for anyone comfortable with the basics, the course will help you develop greater confidence, control and personal style while capturing the movement, light and atmosphere of the coast.

Across the six sessions, you’ll explore techniques for painting skies, clouds, distant horizons, reflections, breaking waves and changing weather. You’ll learn how layering, glazing and carefully chosen colour palettes can create depth and atmosphere, while expressive brushwork and varied textures bring energy to water, rocks and shorelines.

Your tutor will provide demonstrations, gentle guidance and plenty of one-to-one support. Each week includes time to paint, ask questions and experiment with new approaches in a friendly, small-group setting.

The course is led by Jason Skill, whose years of experience have taught him how to simplify a scene and identify the details that truly matter. His guidance will help you edit, refine and distil your compositions—saving you hours of trial and error and helping you take your paintings to the next level.

Whether you want to refresh your practice, strengthen your technique or simply enjoy a weekly creative escape, this course will help you grow as a painter while keeping the process joyful and exploratory.
