Screen print + make a tote bag

Spend a creative day designing, printing and sewing your own one-of-a-kind tote bag with artists Gail Bryson and Sarah Johnston.

You’ll begin with Gail, creating a design and learning how to screen print it onto fabric. Once your fabric has been transformed with your own pattern and choice of colours, Sarah will guide you through cutting and sewing it into a stylish, practical tote bag.

Combining printmaking and sewing, this workshop gives you the chance to be involved in every stage of the making process. By the end of the day, you’ll have a completely unique bag that reflects your own ideas and creativity — no two will ever be the same!

During the workshop, you’ll learn:

• How to create a design suitable for screen printing

• How to screen print your design onto fabric

• How to cut and prepare your printed fabric

• How to construct a tote bag using a sewing machine

• How to finish your bag neatly and professionally

You’ll receive plenty of friendly guidance from Gail and Sarah throughout the day, making this a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to explore two brilliant textile techniques.

Come along and turn your own printed fabric into something beautiful, useful and entirely unique. All materials are provided - so you dont need to bring anything with you - just enthusiasm!
